On the morning of September 20, the 2026 World Manufacturing Convention kicked off in Hefei, Anhui Province, under the theme of “Intelligent Manufacturing for a Better Future”.

As a key international event supporting China’s overall diplomatic agenda and a major national‑level platform for opening‑up, the World Manufacturing Convention has been successfully held for eight editions since 2018. This year’s programme features four flagship events, six major project‑matching sessions and 21 key special activities.
The United Kingdom serves as the Guest Country of Honour and Sichuan Province as the Guest Province of Honour for this edition. According to the convention’s organising committee, more than 1,000 high‑profile guests worldwide have been invited. Among them are over 500 foreign representatives, including foreign dignitaries and minister‑rank officials, government delegates from the Guest Country of Honour and international friendship provinces (cities), officials from foreign diplomatic missions in China, heads of international organisations, as well as C‑suite executives of overseas Fortune Global 500 enterprises and multinationals such as Merck Sharp & Dohme, Mitsubishi Electric and Air Liquide. Over 40 enterprises from countries including the United States, France and Russia are participating in group exhibitions.
Exhibitions are hosted at Hefei Binhu International Convention and Exhibition Centre, covering a total floor area of 70,000 square metres. The 20,000‑square‑metre exhibition zone for manufacturing development achievements comprises ten featured pavilions, namely the Preface Hall, Major‑power Manufacturing Exhibition, Guest‑Province‑of‑Honour Exhibition, International Exhibition, Intelligent Connected New‑Energy Vehicle Exhibition, Robotics and Embodied Intelligence Exhibition, and others. The 50,000‑square‑metre market‑oriented exhibition area houses five specialised zones covering automotive supply chains and semiconductors, artificial intelligence and robotics, among other sectors.
